Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Drumstick (cut into 2 inch batons)
  • ½ cup Onions (roughly chopped)
  • ½ cup Tomatoes (roughly chopped)
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • ½ tablespoon Red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Sambar masala
  • ½ tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tablespoon Salt
  • 3 cups Water
  • ½ tablespoon Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander leaves (finely chopped)

Instructions

  • In a pressure cooker, add the drumsticks, onions, and tomatoes. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, sambar powder, ginger garlic paste, and salt.
  • Add the water and mix everything together.
  • Pressure cook the mixture for 5-6 whistles.
  • Once the mixture is properly pressure cooked, use a strainer to separate the broth.
  • Next, take the drumsticks out and use a knife to make a slit and remove the inside gooey flesh portion of the drumstick. Discard the hard exterior. Repeat the same for all the drumstick pieces.
  • Next, take the onions and tomatoes that were separated from the broth and mix it with the drumstick’s interior flesh.
  • Add the onion, tomato and drumstick flesh mixture. Saute. Let it cook for a minute.
  • Next, add the black pepper powder and salt. Mix.
  • Add the strained broth next and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve hot after sprinkling some black pepper powder on top.
