This year, I bring to you my family-favorite Instant Pot Hot Chocolate made in the advanced Mealthy 2.0 Multipot. This indulgent, warm drink is creamy, smooth, and loaded with chocolate and some spices to warm you up. Plus, I have a vegan version included too. Here is my Instant Pot Hot Chocolate recipe that you will fall in love with.
The reason why I made this hot chocolate in my Multipot 2.0 is that the machine makes everything hands-free. You just dump everything, and your food is ready. And, the newest version has many innovative features that make the work even easier. In this case, you just add milk and rest other ingredients, and your hot chocolate is ready for your convenience. Once the pressure cooking is done, you just whisk and serve with any toppings of your choice.
I rarely make the beverage in my instant pot. However, after this instant pot iced tea, I was brave enough to try chai during our Diwali party. The Multipot did a great job by cooking a huge batch of chai for a large crowd. Since then, I have tried many instant pot beverages in my Mealthy Instant pot. And this time around, they have a version 2, which is more advanced and smart.
Multipot 2.0:
What I loved about the Multipot version-2 or 2.0 are its smart features. The pot features:
- Automatic sealing when the lid is locked in place
- The patented hands-free pressure release system
- True slow cooking that actually does a slow cook
- Easy touch buttons on a user-friendly, intuitive control panel
- 9-in-one cooking functionalities that include everything from pressure cook to dough poof
- 30+ preset functions for novice and experienced alike
So imagine this; your Multipot is automatically sealing the lid for you and releasing pressure whenever needed. In addition to no babysitting and no hovering over the kitchen stove to constantly watch and stir your hot chocolate, you just dump everything and enjoy your instant pot hot chocolate after a few minutes. And, there are no fancy ingredients in it and still tastes the best.

Hot Cocoa vs. Hot Chocolate – Are hot chocolate and hot cocoa the same thing?
While the meaning of both Hot Cocoa and Hot chocolate is the same, but there is a difference. The hot cocoa is usually made with water, cocoa powder, and sugar, and is served with whipped cream, a dash of milk or half and half. In contrast, hot chocolate is made with milk, sugar, and chocolate. My version uses both cocoa powder and some chocolate chips, milk, cream, and sugar.
Can the cocoa powder be used for the instant pot hot chocolate?
Cocoa powder is usually bitter without any sweetening agent. If you are using cocoa powder in making hot chocolate, adjust the sugar and make sure to add more chocolate to make the drink richer.
What does hot chocolate do to your body?
Chocolate is naturally rich in antioxidants and has proven health benefits. Dark chocolate has positive health benefits and helps the body to fight free radicals. Since cocoa is rich in flavonoids, it is naturally antioxidant-rich and aids cardiovascular health.
Is Hot Cocoa better with milk or water?
While water can be used to make hot cocoa, it is better with milk and cream. Dairy does give the hot cocoa a smooth, creamy and rich texture.
How To Make Vegan Instant Pot Hot Chocolate?
I have a vegan version of the hot cocoa or hot chocolate in my blog. Here is my vegan keto chai hot chocolate. If you want to veganize this recipe, use almond or coconut milk instead of dairy milk, add cashew cream or whipped coconut cream in the end and replace the chocolate chips with vegan chocolate chips.
