Tips & Tricks to Make the Drumstick Soup
Ready to give this easy drumstick to soup recipe a try? Here are some more tips and tricks you should know about.
- If you don’t have a pressure cooker, you can use your Instant Pot or just a regular pot to make the soup too.
- If you are using a regular pot, remember that the cooking time for the soup will be a little higher as opposed to the cooking time for this recipe.
- To bring some creaminess and richness to the soup, you can add some heavy cream into it and give it a good mix.
- Want that creaminess but still want to keep the soup vegan? You can use almost any plant based milk or cream of your choice or even add some cashew paste into it for that added richness.
- Remember to let the soup simmer on low heat for a few extra minutes when you add any of these thickeners in. This will help all the spices and seasonings blend well into the soup.
- To make the soup protein rich, you can also add some soaked yellow lentils into the mix along with the drumsticks, pressure cook it and then blend it right in.
- I used a simple blend of Indian herbs and spices to add flavor to the soup, but you can totally give it your touch too, and use any other spice or seasoning mix of your choice.
- A dash of homemade curry powder can also be a great addition to the soup and can jazz up its flavors like nothing else. You can use this instead of the sambar masala that the recipe calls for.
- If you want the soup to have a uniform consistency, you can use an immersion blender to blend all those little chunky bits of the drumstick flesh.

This flavorful and nutritious soup can be enjoyed on its own on a cold winter night or when you’re under the weather.
