Tips & Tricks to Make the Bhapa Doi
Making the Bhapa Doi may be super easy, but you might want to take note of these tips and tricks as well.
- To get the Bhapa Doi to set perfectly and to get it to have the right consistency, you may want to add a spoonful of cornflour into it while you add the hung curd.
- You can also choose to swap the curd in the recipe with some Greek yogurt to make it healthier and creamier. Remember to use the unflavoured and unsweetened variety.
- To make this Bhapa Doi healthy, you can swap the sugar in the recipe with some jaggery powder instead, or any other natural sweetener of your choice for that matter.
- I would recommend using full fat milk for this recipe. If you are using a low-fat variety, you won’t be able to get that perfect creamy consistency.
- If you don’t have any full fat milk, you can compensate for the lack of fat by adding some fresh cream into the mix
- If you don’t have a steamer, you can steam and cook the Bhapa Doi using your microwave too! Remember to microwave the yogurt at medium level in a microwave safe bowl for it to set perfectly.
