Frequently Asked Questions
In addition to the chicken ham, egg and cheese, you can also add some other ingredients into the toastie. Green peppers, sliced tomatoes, red onions and avocados are good choices.
If you have any leftovers, move them to an airtight container and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours.
I wouldn’t recommend storing them beyond that point, as the egg can start to spoil pretty quick.
Tips & Tricks to Make the Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Toast
Making this ham and cheese toast is super easy, but you might want to note down these tips and tricks too,
- To bring some extra flavor into the toastie, you can spread some grainy mustard, horseradish or even just some mayonnaise onto the toast before you top it with the ham and cheese.
- You can also experiment with different kinds of cheese. I used some processed cheese, but you could also try using Parmesan, provolone or pepper jack cheese if you want to.
- Another great idea is to bring a bit of variation to the base. I used sandwich bread, but you can use a couple of slices of sourdough or tortillas and replicate the same recipe if you want to.
- And if you want to make it healthier, you can use wholewheat or multigrain bread slices instead of your regular flour bread slices too!
- If you don’t want to use your Air Fryer, you can actually make this in a pan too! Just use a good quality non-stick pan, grease it and cook the toastie on both sides over medium heat until it is golden brown.
Serving Ideas & Suggestions
This easy Air Fryer ham and cheese toast can be enjoyed as a hearty breakfast or even for lunch when you’re looking to keep it light and simple.
If you want to go the extra mile, team it up with a light soup or a salad to make it healthier. I also love serving these with some potato chips or French fries when I’m in the mood for a cheat day.
