Once you have all your ingredients ready, here’s what you’ll need to do to make the honey garlic chicken breast.
Place the chicken breasts on a wooden board and make slits into them diagonal and then again from the opposite side.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on the chicken breast and massage them with the seasoning. Make sure the seasonings enter the slits of the chicken breast. Keep them aside once done.
Heat 2 tablespoon butter in a non-stick pan. Add the chicken breast to the pan and cook both sides for 1 minute on each side.

Tips & Tricks to Make the Honey Garlic Chicken Breast
While making this dish is super easy, you might also want to take note of these little tips and tricks to nail the recipe.
- I’ve used chicken breasts for the recipe, but you could also try using other cuts of chicken like thighs or drumsticks if you want to.
- If you want the chicken to have a nice crispy outer, you can dust it with some all purpose flour before you pan fry it. This will also help the chicken soak up all of that delicious sauce nicely.
- To add a bit of heat to the honey garlic sauce, you can also add some crushed red pepper flakes or a pinch or two of cayenne pepper.
- If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use some granulated garlic instead.
- I would also recommend making a little extra sauce than you need. You can then drizzle this sauce over the top right when you serve, and it can just complete the dish beautifully when you team it up with some steamed veggies or rice.
- Don’t forget to sprinkle the dish with lots of chopped cilantro before you serve it.
