Iced Tea in Instant Pot vs. Stove-top:
Well, there is nothing wrong in the traditional stovetop method of brewing a batch of tea or even the col-brew method. What I have found is the Instant pot ice tea making is:
- Easier and literally, no attentions required
- No need to bring the water to a boil
- Dump-push-start method
- Perfect temperature for brewing as at 212F inside the pressure cooker, water doesn’t come to a boil.
- Even though the tea is being steeped for a longer time (including the 10-minute of natural pressure release), it’s never bitter.
- If using green tea like me, adding a pinch of baking soda really takes away even that tiniest of the bitter flavor from this ice tea.
- Plus, if you are using a fresh fruit like me, the flavors really infuse magically together making it a perfect iced tea.
However, the water boils vigorously when we make tea in stove top and tea releases a bitter flavor when brewed for a long time in high-degree water. And, you will have to stand there to make that perfectly brewed iced tea. Here is an amazing article on Instant Pot tea brewing tips.
How many servings does this Instant pot tea recipe makes?
This recipe makes a little over 8 servings, thanks to the pineapple juice released from the fruit pulp.
What flavors go well with this iced tea?
Iced tea, in my opinion, tastes great in all cooling and fresh flavors. Floral notes of lavender, refreshing mint and citrusy, and tropical fruit flavors go really well with iced tea. You can either add fresh fruit puree, slices, syrup or brew the tea together with crushed fruit for a fruit-infused iced tea.
